Elana Vollen

Picture
Elana has been a practitioner of yoga for over twenty years and teaching for the last eight years. She strives to integrate the principles of alignment, a key component of the training she did in the Iyengar tradition, with the flowing, breath-centered practices of the Vinyasa traditions and balancing Yin and Yang principles – the Yin aspects of nurturing, listening, and softening with the Yang aspects of challenging, engaging and healing. She also feels humor rounds out the practice and lightens the mind. She aims to co-create classes based on the needs and desires of her students at any given time. Elana has been working professionally as a massage therapist for over 9 yrs. Her style is firm yet flowing, nurturing and intuitive. She believes her experience as a yoga teacher has contributed greatly to a better understanding of people’s personal body dynamics and holding patterns.
